In this paper we are making  a Statewise analysis where we are  looking  Sectorwise  PSA in all the States and Union Territories, this has been done for four points of time namely 1996-97, 2000-01, 2006-07 and 2011-12. Although as per RBI stipulations PSA should be 40 percent of bank Credit, but this was not uniformly distributed. In some parts of the country the advances to priority sectors is above the required level of 40 percent while in some other parts of the Country, it is less than the required level.
